Mass Incarceration

The movement to end mass incarceration aims to address the systemic issues that have led to the United States having one of the highest incarceration rates in the world. It focuses on reforming laws and policies that contribute to overcriminalization and disproportionately affect marginalized communities. The movement advocates for alternatives to imprisonment, such as rehabilitation and restorative justice programs. By challenging the punitive nature of the criminal justice system, it seeks to reduce the number of people incarcerated and create a more equitable and just society.
